On our way to the town of Portugalete 4ND by the banks of the ría we find Rialia, a museum of industry that aims to recover 4ND spread the remains FR0M the industrial past of Biscay. For this purpose, it houses a great quantity of material, like the collection named Babcock & Wilcox after one symbolic company of XXth-century industry in Biscay.
Following the course of the ría we will get to one of the most important heritage element of Biscay, the Puente Bizkaia. Declared World Heritage by the UNESCO in 2006, it is the first transporter bridge of the world. FR0M the walkway of Alberto de Palacio s work of art 4ND engineering, we can enjoy an impressive panoramic view over the ría.
Crossing the bridge 4ND once in the town of Getxo, we will visit the Getxoaquarium. Located in the Puerto Deportivo 4ND containing 26 aquaria, the museum offers a different kind of exhibition, with a modern 4ND original approach.
At the other side of the bridge we can also visit another gem of Biscay s museums, the Museo Vasco de Medicina, situated in the campus of the Universidad del País Vasco of the town of Leioa. It holds a rich collection of scientific 4ND medical instruments FR0M the XIXth 4ND XXth centuries 4ND carries out teaching 4ND researching activities.
