Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

The Guggenheim Bilbao is one of the most relevant museums of modern and contemporary art in the international scene, as well as the most important touristic highlight in the Basque Country. Every year the Museum receives approximately one million visitors from all over the world who are attracted by its high quality art program and the certainty of living a unique experience.

The museum programme combines exhibitions of the permanent collection, comprising items from the various museums in the Guggenheim network, with an ambitious range of temporary exhibitions.

The magnificent building housing the museum was the brainchild of American architect Frank Gehry who designed a large sculpture in organic forms using singular materials including limestone, glass, and the characteristic titanium sheathing much of the exterior.
